A pleasing hexagonal crystal of Molybdenite from the Moly Hill mine, a small quarry at La Motte in Québec, Canada. The crystal, which measures 1.3 cm across flats and is about 0.5 mm thick, stands proud of its creamy granular and crystalline Quartz matrix. Moly Hill mine exploited a pegmatite deposit, beginning in the 1950s and operating until about 1968. During the 1990s it was reworked for Quartz as a smelting flux. A very good example of Molybdenite from Moly Hill.\n
