Description
A well displayed hexagonal Corundum crystal of the red variety Ruby, from the classic Indian location of Mysore District. The well-formed crystal of cherry pink Ruby measures to 1.8 cm and is set in a white Calcite and mica schist matrix together with several other Ruby crystals. The accompanying video shows this specimen in white LED light and ultraviolet light. Do take a look as in UV the Ruby turns brilliant fluorescent scarlet; its striking to say the least!
