Geocronite
Geocronite is a rare lead-antimony sulfosalt with the best crystals coming from Italy. This particular piece features a 1.8 cm crystal on a Goethite stained matrix that also hosts a similar sized, but incomplete crystal on the backside of the piece. The metallic, lead-gray crystal is pseudo-hexagonal in appearance and is lightly striated all around. The crystal has a few fractures running through it, but is stable. The piece sits well for display and displays the Geocronite crystal prominently. This fine display specimen is one of the old examples from this locality (1960s?) and was formerly in the collections of David Wilber, and then Phil Oswalt, which was sourced for him by dealer, John Attard, who helped him build a significant rarities suite in the 1990s.
