Clinohumite is an uncommon mineral and to find ii as a complete gem crystal on contrasting matrix is almost unheard of! This large, gemmy, burnt orange crystal measures 1.6 x 1.2 x 1.0 cm and is set strategically atop of a translucent white, cleavage rhomb of Calcite for perfect contrast and presentation. This is another one of those great finds by Bill Larson on one of his many Burma trips. The Clinohumite crystal is well formed, pristine and is very gemmy and bright. It's a beautiful miniature for the species and it fluoresces a vibrant mustard-yellow in short wave UV.
