You can immediately tell Heliodors from the 70’s find at the Walking Stick Mine by their smooth, silky, etched surfaces and a color that is a bit more greenish than many Heliodors. The form is good on this one compared to most others from the find, actually doubly-terminated (one is partially etched) - and the crystal is translucent with a little bit of gemminess. They can get quite large, and this imposing 7.3 cm crystal has a mass of 60 grams. I have seen few from here that have gotten this large. These Heliodors were hoarded for years by the geologist who found them before finally making their way to the market in the 1990's.
