Hydromagnesite is an unusual and uncommon hydrated carbonate found as a low-temperature hydrothermal mineral occurring in veinlets in serpentine and altered magnesium-rich igneous rocks. This fine plate consists of snow-white to colorless, feathery and hair-like crystals aggregates and hails from an uncommon California locality - Red Mountain in Santa Clara County. Ex.
