Smithsonite ps. after Azurite with Mimetite Tsumeb Mine (west 20 stope, 29 level), Oshikoto Region, Tsumeb, Namibia

6.2 × 5.8 x 3.3 cm

Ex. Jack Halpern; Stretch Young

This is a stellar, large, and well balanced example of a rare and coveted Tsumeb pseudomorph/epimorph. Cuprian Smithsonite replaces a relatively large Azurite cluster, with the replaced crystals dissolved through openings in the cast. Small yellow Mimetite crystals adorn the Smithsonite cast and add a sparkle to the visuals! Superb piece acquired from The Arkenstone! Photo credits Arkenstone as well.
