Although the Kamariza mines at Lavrion District, Attikí Prefecture, Greece are renowned for their diverse suite of brightly coloured secondary mineral species, very rarely do they present as large individual world-class crystals as seen in this magnificent miniature-sized Azurite with Malachite. Indeed, the Azurite crystals are absolutely stunning, showing a delicate, thin, blade-like form in an attractive fan-like spray. The Azurite crystals are so thin that light transmits through them, producing a gorgeous blue colour and an appearance like stained glass. The spray itself measures 2.4 x 1.7 cm and sits between several dark green botryoidal sprays of silky Malachite. A really unusual and strikingly beautiful smaller Azurite.
