A commanding and highly distinctive fluorite specimen dominated by an unusually large cubic crystal, measuring an impressive 7 cm across—placing it firmly within the upper echelon of Yaogangxian fluorite in terms of scale and presence. The crystal rises prominently from a supporting matrix of smaller fluorite cubes, accompanied by minor associated sulfides, likely pyrite, adding subtle contrast and complexity.
What immediately sets this piece apart is its refined and uncommon coloration: a delicate, pale blue infused with soft lavender-violet zoning concentrated toward the edges and corners. This subtle chromatic interplay gives the crystal an ethereal, almost atmospheric quality, distinct from the more saturated or zoned fluorites typically encountered from the locality.
Equally compelling is the crystal’s notable clarity. Despite its substantial size, the fluorite maintains a high degree of internal transparency, allowing light to penetrate and softly diffuse through its volume.
