A grouping of point the green zeunerite crystals measuring 0.5 cm in size on matrix with numerous smaller crystals. The coverage of the crystals overall is quite sparse on this matrix, still in very good example for the species and locality. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Eric Laskowski, he collected the piece from the bottom of the copper stope in November, 1999.The Majuba Hill Mine, located in the Antelope Range of Pershing County, Nevada, is a complex hydrothermal deposit situated within an altered Tertiary porphyritic complex that intruded Triassic-Jurassic sedimentary rocks. Originally discovered in the early twentieth century and mined primarily for copper and uranium during both World Wars and the mid-century era, the site later became famous among mineral collectors for its diverse array of secondary copper and uranium species. Among these, zeunerite occurs as striking emerald-green, tabular square crystals formed in oxidized zones near weathered copper-uranium veins, making specimens from this historic location highly prized in mineral collections worldwide.
