A beautiful cluster of deep green lustrous translucent cubic fluorite crystals, the most prominent crystal 5.8 cm along its largest edge. No real attached matrix, this is complete all around and in very good condition. The specimen comes with a previous label from the collection of Ray DeMark.Located in the Ambatofinandrahana District of the Amoron'i Mania Region in central Madagascar, Mandrosonoro is situated within a geologically complex Precambrian basement terrain. The region is widely recognized for hydrothermal mineral deposits formed within fractures, pegmatites, and cavity fillings of metamorphic host rocks. Discovered relatively recently as a commercial mineral locality, small-scale artisanal mining operations in the area produce highly sought-after fluorite specimens. These specimens are prized by collectors globally for their sharp cubic crystal habits, intense emerald-green to deep green colors, and strong blue-purple fluorescence under ultraviolet light.
