Not only is Borcarite an extremely rare species on a world-scale, it is a beautiful one too. Indeed, the colour of the glassy, bladed crystals on this larger toenail- to very small miniature-sized Borcarite from the new find at Charcas at San Luis Potosi, Mexico is magnificent - a gorgeous blue-green. The individual crystals reach 5 mm in length and are remarkably sharp, even by the recent standards at Charcas, forming isolated single crystals and small clusters. This is undoubtedly a world-class example of this super-rare borate species from this unusually complex polymetallic skarn deposit. Such perfection for something so unusual.
