Zincite crystal, 2.5 cm, on matrix (12 cm) from the Buckwheat (Franklin) mine, originally in the collection of William “Billy” Ball, a New Jersey Zinc Company employee. It was acquired, along with the rest of Ball’s collection, by Massachusetts mineral dealers Raymond and Alvin Shortmann, who sold it to Detroit mineral collector Archibald N.
