An uncommon, and quite attractive miniature specimen of the rare hydrated iron sulphate mineral Amarantite from the Type Locality at Caracoles, Sierra Gorda District, Chile. The Amarantite forms orange-brown flower-like radiating aggregates embedded within contrasting massive turquoise blue Chalcanthite. The Amarantite sprays reach 9 mm in diameter.
