Hessite is an extremely rare silver telluride species, and even rarer in visible crystals. Indeed, the only significant locality for Hessite crystals are a small group of mines around Botés, in Alba County, Romania. To own one is to reach the upper echelons of rare species, or rare silver-bearing species collecting. This small miniature matrix specimen is a stunning classic, featuring a particularly well-formed, 8 mm tall, crystal of metallic dark grey Hessite with a prismatic aspect displaying upright from its white Quartz crystal matrix. Around the base of the main Hessite crystal, is a cluster of smaller rounded Hessite crystals. Both the main crystal and those neighbouring it are in superb condition. Ex Martin Bohaty Collection.
