Fluorite

Fluorite - "Rosiclare Level", Minerva No. 1 Mine, USA

A standout miniature plate anchored by an exceptionally sharp, 2.3 cm cubic crystal perched on matrix. The primary cube showcases a delicate pale icy-blue to lavender interior with remarkable optical transparency and glassy luster, set off by distinct zoning across the faces. Classic Cave-in-Rock stepped growth notches trace the crystal edges, providing wonderful architectural character.

The main cube rests against a cluster of contrasting, near-colorless to pale smoky cubes that give the entire cluster great balance and depth.

Provenance adds another layer of enjoyment here, with the piece tracing back to the Reverend Michael Keirle collection as well as an older late-1980s dealer label from Paul Lowe. A terrific addition representing quintessential southern Illinois habit and clarity.
