Outstanding example of Brazilianite from the township of Linópolis, which has produced the world's best Brazilianites and also contains the type locality, though we cannot nail down the exact locality of this terrific specimen. The tabular, grayish Quartz crystal serves as a perfect display base for this choice cluster of Brazilianites. The main crystal is 6.1 cm, and it displays dramatically, standing at about 45 degrees on the matrix. It has an excellent, nearly chisel-point termination, and its translucent-to-gemmy interior is complemented well by the good luster. On its own, this large crystal would make this a premium specimen, but along the base there are nearly a dozen smaller crystals whose quality is such that many look like little Brazilianite jewels. You simply don't often see clean clusters like this. Between the large and small crystals and the Quartz matrix, you have a terrific aesthetic that really brings out the best of this combination. Likely from a major find of the early 2000s that produced a number of famous specimens, showing this same style of proud-standing crystals upon Quartz or Feldspar.
