Pyrite from UK, England, Westgate, Cambokeels Mine
A striking and highly aesthetic association specimen from the famous Cambokeels Mine, featuring bright metallic pyrite crystals intergrown with sparkling quartz and fluorite. Pyrite with a rich brassy-gold lustre are prominently displayed throughout the piece, creating a dramatic contrast against the colourless to white quartz crystal coating.
The quartz occurs as a dense covering of sharp, lustrous crystals, adding brilliance and texture across the specimen. Beneath and between the quartz growth, pale fluorite crystals are visible, providing subtle colour and depth to the composition. The fluorite displays the classic cubic habit characteristic of Weardale mineralisation.
The specimen exhibits excellent balance between the three mineral species, with the reflective pyrite serving as a focal point amid the sparkling quartz and fluorite. The combination of metallic lustre, crystal form, and contrasting textures makes this an outstanding display piece and a fine example of the classic mineral associations found at the renowned Cambokeels Mine.
