From the summer 2026 Pete's Pocket.
The internet exploded when the Greenlaws Mining Proiect recently shared videos of mind-blowing floaters being found this summer. This spectacular, elongated floater is from that find. Known affectionately as 'funkies', these floaters form when early-stage crystals break off in-situ and a later pulse of mineralising fluids causes a new crystal to grow on top. This process is evident under long-wave ultraviolet light: the crystal embedded in the specimen fluoresces brightly, whereas the newer crystallisation has a weaker reaction. The colour zones on this piece are phenomenal: blues, pinks, yellows, greens. This is amongst the best miniature funkies from this find.
