Fluorite from Purple Haze pocket, UK, England, County Durham, Rogerley Quarry, Diana Maria Mine
Purple Haze pocket, Diana Maria mine, Frosterley, Weardale, Co. Durham.
A rib of off white to light yellow Quartz crystals forms a concave almost half pocket, within this are well formed greyish purple crystals of Fluorite with shot white centres. scattered across this are three groups of well formed twinned and glassy Fluorites to 2cm on edge. The glassy twinned fluorites exhibit colour zoning with an odd colour of purple inside them. all in all quite a nice specimen.
The Purple Haze pocket was discovered in autumn 2018 on the Sutcliffe vein.
