This specimen is an old‑stock smoky amethyst scepter from the Sahatany Valley in Madagascar, collected approximately 25 years ago during the peak period of quartz production in the region. Sahatany is well known for producing smoky amethyst combinations with sharp scepter geometry, high clarity, and distinctive internal features, and this piece is a classic example of that early material.
The crystal shows a well‑defined scepter habit with a deep purple amethyst cap over a smoky quartz stem. Internal visibility is excellent, allowing the moving enhydro to be seen clearly. The mobile bubble shifts freely within its cavity, a hallmark of Sahatany Valley quartz and a feature rarely found in more recent production.
Old‑stock Sahatany scepters with moving enhydros are increasingly scarce, as most of the original artisanal workings were exhausted by the mid‑2000s. This piece displays the characteristic form, zoning, and internal life that made the early Sahatany finds so sought after. A fine collector specimen with both aesthetic and historical significance.
Comes on acrylic base.
