Quartz from Madagascar, Amoron'i Mania, Ambatofinandrahana District, Ihovitra, Itremo commune, Ambat

One time find. A large and visually striking quartz cluster from the Ihovitra Mine in the Itremo region of Madagascar, displaying vivid green fuchsite inclusions suspended within clear to softly toned quartz points. This specimen measures 11.22 × 8.87 × 8.70 cm, with the tallest crystal reaching 8.08 cm. The cluster features sharply terminated prismatic crystals with excellent internal visibility, allowing the green inclusions to show through with strong contrast.

Material from Ihovitra first appeared on the market in the early 2010s and quickly became sought after for its distinctive internal color zoning. Production from this locality has been extremely limited, and most pieces circulating today originate from the original discovery rather than ongoing mining. This cluster shows the classic characteristics of the find: transparent upper terminations, pale to milky bases, and concentrated fuchsite inclusions lower in the prism.

The combination of size, clarity, and saturated green inclusions gives this piece a strong display presence and makes it an exceptional example from a locality known for its scarcity.
