Adamite is a supergene mineral occurs in the oxidation zone of Zn deposit, was first found in Ojuela mine (a replacement deposit in fractured system in limestone) in 1948, few decades later, it had became an important locality for adamite, Cu-bearing adamite to zincolivinite (when Cu>50%)and Mn-bearing adamite, unfortunately, when Mn >50%, it becomes Sarkinite and no longer belongs to olivenite group mineral lol.
Mn produces such a beautiful deep purple color to adamite. These were found since the pocket found in 1981, long considered the most desirable for this rare varietal amongst the few times it has been found. Specimens from the famous 1981 pocket, is difficult to obtain in the market. 3.1cm, perfect toenail specimen.
