a large Black Opal/petrified wood limb cast with precious "skin fire" from Virgin Valley, Nevada, showing trademark "crazing" (hairline fractures) from drying/dehydration and exposure to atmospheric conditions. Black Opal "core" while the skin is precious white to crystal opal. Measures about 3.5 x 3 x 2.25 inches. Previously in the Christopher Wentzell collection.
