Rare old-time Smithsonite from the Cerro Gordo Mines, Inyo County, California USA. About 5 inches across. Resembles Kelly Mine material, this would have been dug between 1866 and 1957, though based on the ID number painted on the specimen, I am guessing it was marked in the 1920s. Hard to find material, there are some good examples in the Los Angeles County Museum, and the Keck Museum in Reno NV.
