Black Opal from Lightning Ridge

A polished Black Crystal precious opal specimen from Lightning Ridge, NSW, Australia, measuring 4.7 cm across, and weighing 104.5 carats. The stone has sand pits at/near the surface, and brilliant green and blue play-of-color, but there is a hidden red color-bar just under the sand inclusions which you cannot tell from this photo
