A set of two very choice in fine loose single crystals of sharply formed parisite-ce. From the type locality, both are in great condition. The specimens come with an antique label and date to the early 20th century. Size provided is for the larger of the two crystals.Parisite-(Ce) from Muzo, Colombia, is a classic occurrence of this rare mineral and represents the type locality for the species. It was first discovered in the famous emerald mines of Muzo in the early 19th century and was named after J. J. Paris, a manager of the mine. The mineral occurs in hydrothermal veins within bituminous limestone associated with emerald mineralization. At Muzo, parisite-(Ce) typically forms small pseudohexagonal prismatic crystals, often brown to yellow in color with a resinous to vitreous luster, and is commonly associated with calcite and emerald.
