Kunzite spodumene crystal, 16.3 cm, from the Vanderberg mine, near Pala, San Diego County, California. Collected by miners for George Ashley in 1951. Pictured in Peter Bancroft's book Gem and Crystal Treasures when freshly removed from the pocket. Ex collections of Foss Cordley, Ed David, and Rob Lavinsky.
