Quartz crystal group, 15.4 cm, from the McEarl mine, Blue Springs, Garland County, Arkansas. Quartz crystals discovered there by Jim Coleman in 1987 are considered to be the world’s finest for the species. The find was hidden away and not offered on the specimen market until the early 2000s. The specimen is among the finest clusters from that discovery, with typical McEarl-style terminations and water-clear crystals. Photo by László Kupi.
