Barrerite with Quartz
Bright white sharply formed crystals to 2.0 cm in size on matrix. In great condition, quite choice for the species.Barrerite is a rare zeolite mineral composed mainly of sodium, potassium, calcium, aluminum, and silicon. It forms in cavities within volcanic rocks where mineral rich fluids deposit zeolite minerals during low temperature alteration. Barrerite typically appears as small white or colorless crystals associated with other zeolite minerals. The mineral was first described in 1974 and was named in honor of the mineralogist Richard M. Barrer for his work on zeolite chemistry.
