This is a gorgeous and excellent cluster of sharp, robust, translucent to nearly gemmy white crystals of beryllonite from Paprok, Afghanistan; and it came from the renowned collection of Herb Obodda. There are six major crystals and several smaller ones that comprise the group and they all have a captivating translucence and silky luster on the prism faces. Individual crystals display broad, flat terminations and the heavily striated prism faces show the typical serrated edges of the material from this locality which are some of the finest for the species. The larger, conjoined crystals vary in size from 2.2 to 3.5 cm in size The smaller ones at the bottom are a centimeter or less. It is complete all around except for one spot at the base and is nearly a floater. The piece fluoresces an intense green under shortwave UV. Superb for geometry, but considered next-level for the translucency throughout.
