Heliodor beryl, 8.6 cm, from Marambaia, Caraí, Minas Gerais, Brazil; nicknamed the “Fat Green Beryl.” Ex Hermann Bank, ex Bill Larson, ex David Eidahl, ex Keith Proctor, ex Steve Smale. It was illustrated in Lapidary Journal (February 1983), Rocks and Minerals (January–February 1988), the Mineralogical Record’s A Fifty-Year History of the Tucson Show (January 2004), and in the book The Smale Collection II (2021); Tom Spann photo.
