Tsumeb wulfenites have a distinctive look that sets them apart from other specimens of this popular species, when at their best, with this strong metallic luster and rich coloration. Perhaps most notable is the superb adamantine luster that gives the crystals an almost 'metallic' sheen. On this piece, the tiered faces and beveled edges are gorgeous, and the deep honey color is excellent. Where light passes all the way through, you get golden-cinnamon flashes of fire that are eye-catching. This single, 1 cm crystal displays perfectly atop the specimen, with the matrix being a mix of smaller wulfenites accented by a significant dusting of light-green malachite. A classic, the quality of the main crystal and the pairing with the mixed matrix create an excellent aesthetic, both lovely and balanced. This is a wonderful, old-time, thumbnail specimen from the world's most famous locality, dating back at least 50 years. Sharp, balanced, colorful, and a very rare association!
