Zektzerite. Arfvedsonite
Zektzerite is an extremely rare silicate member of the Tuhualite group, first discovered in the late 1960s. It comes from just a handful of localities around the world, but the type locality, where this specimen was found, has produced the biggest and the best. This is a wonderful large single crystal, measuring 2.6 cm across with a light pink/straw color and decent gemmy quality. It is cleaved at the bottom – where it was presumably attached to a second half of what was once a larger crystal. Despite this, it now makes for a very nice ‘trigonal’ thumbnail specimen of this highly desired material. Features a nice association of jet black arfvedsonite.
