Fluorite
Hilton mine, situated in what is known as 'the Escarpment' on the western edge of the North Pennines in northern England is one of the most famous mines for amber-coloured Fluorite crystals. Known for over a century, these crystals tend to form as either individual 'twins' or larger beds of intergrown crystals - the latter often displaying internal frosting to the crystals. This superb miniature specimen features a small bed of immaculate sharp cubic crystals with intense amber gemmy corners and frosted centres, all sat upon a small piece of rock matrix. A really very fine smaller bed of crystals from Hilton mine.
