Tourmaline with Lepidolite
Every ounce of jaw-dropping color that could be expected from the Golconda pegmatite field is showcased in this magnificent specimen of Tourmaline (most likely Elbaite) that is totally wreathed in bright purple Lepidolite. The majority of this piece is composed of gorgeous, highly lustrous prisms that reach up to 13.6 centimeters, with a gem-clear transparency and a deep blue color that is nothing short of stunning. Several thin groups of nicely rounded Lepidolite clusters, which also showcase the finest color possible for the species, are dispersed throughout the specimen, wrapping around or even topping most of the Tourmaline. Several smaller but sharp blades of Albite complete the specimen with glassy, transparent accents of brilliant white. This is a simply exceptional example of Golconda mineralogy, and the visual impact of the entire specimen is totally singular and incredibly rare. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
