It isn't everyday you come across Calcite specimens from this relatively obscure Moroccan locality, especially ones that are this well-formed and beautifully arranged! Acting as the foundation of this vibrant piece is a cluster of sharp, translucent, yellow Calcite crystals that have stunning associations of brilliant white, perfectly-formed Stilbite crystals. Starting at the bottom of the specimen, the Calcite increases in size as it approaches the top of the specimen, reaching a width of 11.3 centimeters, and is accented with nicely stepped growths that give the piece a terrace-like topography. The Calcite is overlaid by a complex growth that resembles a smaller version of the larger, underlying Calcite, which reaches across the full length of the specimen. Adding to the piece's aesthetics, at the center of the specimen's front side is a single pristine, doubly-terminated Stilbite crystal that stands out beautifully against the Calcite. Under UV light, the Calcite strongly fluoresces yellow. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
