Fluorite
Fazenda do Centro, Castelo, Espírito Santo, Brazil
3.5x2.7x3cm
Fluorite are not commonly found in Pegmatite. These natural blue Fluorite from a recent find in Espírito Santo, produced a pretty small amount of specimens, but some of great quality. It was a small mining operation that started by chance. There has been no new production since early 2024. When the pieces were extracted they had heavy overgrowth and each piece was a total mystery until hours of meticulous cleaning revealed their true beauty. Like all productions there was variety as well as a range of quality. There were pieces with Amazonite, pieces with Quartz, Fluorite by itself and very few good matrix pieces. This particular interlocking cube is something special though. It has no point of attachment and is undamaged. What makes it truly remarkable and one of a kind though, is the intense, deep saturation at the core of the specimen. This fluorite has multiple layers of growth causing phantom zoning inside the final cubic growth. It has the deepest darkest blue and purple hues I have seen on a specimen from this find. Luckily most likely as a result of natural hydrothermal etching, the back is exposed showing all the layers of generational Fluorite growth.
Comes with beveled acrylic base and laminated identification card.
