This is the largest and best specimen that I know of from the find for having discrete and visible crystals as opposed to the drusy or ball-shaped aggregates. The rich surface display is 6 x 5 cm across, and has individual "rice-grain"-shaped crystals to 4 or 5 mm shooting out all sides. I know it seems expensive, but there are several key facts to consider in purchasing fine mineral specimens such as this. When you take into account how rare this habit was in the find, the quality of the mineral in context of the find, and that this matrix specimen is overall more aesthetic than most of its more "chunky" brethren, this explains the premium placed upon the specimen. This is certainly a world class example of the species based on any standard previously seen. And for Mapimi, it is an order of magnitude upgrade from past material .
