Fluorite from St Christoph Mine, Saxony, Germany

A neat example of the coveted pink octahedral fluorite - not from any of the famous alpine localities, but one from a fairly recent find in the German Erzgebirge. These have been found relatively recently, but the St Christoph Mine dates back around five centuries, with mining dating back to 1558. The mine finally closed after World War II, and now operates as a visitor mine.
