A sharp, textbook example of the famous cubic crystals of platinum that have, rarely, been released from reserves found at the Konder platinum mine. Although labelled as platinum for decades, sometime after 2020 some have taken to calling these Isoferroplatinum, although all old labels only refer to them as platinum and it is likely each crystal has zones of both species present. This is a fine, sharp specimen of two intergrown cubes from the collection of Jean Smith (founder of the Rocksmiths dealership which I grew up buying from, as did so many collectors of my own generation in the 1980s-90s). Jean and her family (Eldon, Jaye and Bill) were among the first Western dealers to bring these out of Russia in the 1980s; and they got this directly in Russia at the time). 2.9 grams.
