Large, glowing orange spessartine garnet cluster from the location that redefined what is possible for orange garnets. This specimen is not only large and aesthetic, but demonstrates unusually clean crystal faces and edges all around--many specimens from this find show some roughness and "chatter" along the edges, as well as impressions from previously intersecting crystals, both of which are absent from this piece. This specimen also shows wonderful transparency, especially inside the largest, main crystal--while this transparency was difficult to capture in photos it is obvious in person. Deposits of red mica are present along the back side of the specimen which I failed to capture in the pictures--though in my experience the best crystals from this find seemed to often be associated with this red mica. Overall a very fine example.
