A vibrant and well‑balanced fluorite on quartz specimen from the historic Highway 17 Roadcut, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada — a one‑time 1800s discovery known for producing unusually colorful fluorite in limited quantities. This piece features sharply defined purple fluorite cubes perched on a sparkling bed of druzy quartz, creating a striking contrast between geometry and texture. The fluorite shows excellent translucency with internal zoning that glows under strong light, while the quartz matrix adds brightness and dimensionality to the overall presentation. At 65 g, this is a substantial small specimen with strong color, clean crystal form, and excellent locality character — an increasingly scarce combination from a site long since exhausted.
