Celestine, 17.8 cm, from Meckley’s quarry, Mandata, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. Meckley’s quarry was first mined in 1936 and today remains in active operation for agricultural limestone and for crushed stone used in paving and construction. The celestine specimen shown here was collected by Skip Colflesh and Scott Snavely.
