This remote artisanal mine for copper specimens has produced, in a sudden turn of events nobody could have predicted, the world's largest and surely by far the best large plates of the rare mineral veszelyite, a copper-zinc secondary species. not only are these rich and important, they are simply beautiful because of the sparkle and the contrast as the veszelyite sits atop hemimorphite. The hemimorphite owes its blue color to minute inclusions of copper, and so we have lustrous glassy rich royal blue crystals atop this powder blue base. It is a striking look. We were privileged to be able to select some wonderful specimens as this production came to market in February of 2025, and selected the pieces you see in the current update. This is one of our largest and richest by far - with more veszelyite here on this one plate than I had seen in the rest of my mineral dealing years from 1984-2020, put together. It is simply a beautiful large piece that also happens to be important.
