The quality of this old-world Siderite specimen is totally singular for the species: Siderite typically forms in massive microcrystalline deposits, usually relegated as a trifling associative mineral with no aesthetic value. This remarkable French example begs to differ, displaying extremely sharp rhombohedral crystals that reach a staggering 10 centimeters on the edge. The surface is shiny like polished glass, and underneath the shine is a complex and deep body, with an olive-brown hue. The cluster is substantial but still well-defined. This specimen comes with a custom acrylic base.
