This is a huge and highly displayable cabinet specimen of large and sharply-terminated Quartz crystals, deposited across the front side of an amorphous, siliceous matrix, that are covered in a thin layer of microcrystalline-to-botryoidal Hematite and a couple distinct swaths of what is likely limonite. These layers upon layers of oxides coat the Quartz like a carpet. The Hematite is accented with large stretches of reddish-purple, pale blue-green, even yellow iridescence that give the piece a nice contrast in color and a strong, complex textural quality. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
