Amethyst

An exceptionally stunning and sculptural collection of superb Amethyst sprays from the famous region of Amatitlán, each consisting of robust and beautifully-formed crystals (up to 12.1 centimeters in length. Each crystal is transparent and has an intense purple color that (characteristic of the locality) deepens towards the Amethyst's core; the rich color is presented in sharp phantoms that are highlighted by glassy, colorless zoning. Impressively, the large spray on the specimen's foreground actually splits into different directions, creating a shape that is reminiscent of a "butterfly" or "bowtie." A very small but well-formed cluster of what is likely Hematite is ensconced in the specimen's bottom, back-right corner. This piece comes with a custom acrylic base.
