Tucson, Arizona, USAA first class specimen of beautifully crystallised Ilvaite shallowly embedded in various faces of a creamy to colourless, double terminated scalenohedral Calcite crystal. This cabinet specimen is from the Dalnegorsk mining region in Primorsky Krai, Far-Eastern Region, Russia and is attached to remnants of the matrix embedded in the back faces of the scalenohedral. Ilvaite, an iron and calcium sorosilicate forms impressive, perfectly terminated, opaque black crystals with a bright lustre, the largest measuring 2.5 cm long. Under LWUV the Calcite fluoresces bright scarlet. An superb specimen accompanied with a Don Edwards (Commercial Road, Tideswell, Derbyshire) label.\n
