A lovely historic 'alpine-type' miniature specimen from the Maderanertal area in Uri, Switzerland. Based on its accompanying Dr F. Krantz dealer label this piece was originally sold after 1888, but probably before 1926 (the year Dr F. Krantz died). It features a small (4.5 mm across), but well-formed free-standing, bladed, translucent, orange-brown, Brookite crystal and a couple of other Brookite crystals too. There is also one tabular (square-section), cream to black, colour-zoned Anatase crystal, reaching about 3 mm on edge and a few small Smoky Quartz crystals around the other side of the specimen. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) and is a fine example from this famous Swiss occurrence.
